About UsThe Lavender House is an English guest house/B&B ideally placed to explore the French departments of the Charente, Haute Vienne and the Dordogne.Situated just 15 minutes along the D13 from the pretty chateau town of La Rochefoucauld (Route Claude Bonnier – N141). Montemboeuf is also within easy reach of Limoges, Bordeaux, Cognac, the French coast at La Rochelle or Royan and the through routes to the Spanish border. Built in 1857, the house has been sympathetically restored by Terry & Kathy Bowen to provide four bedrooms, two double's, a twin and a family room that sleeps 4/5. All with en-suite facilities. The design influence of Laura Ashley is much in evidence throughout! Directly off the large reception hallway is a comfortable, well appointed guest lounge, and a separate traditional dinning room where both breakfast and evening meals are served. Outside the gardens are open for exploration, quiet relaxation, or perhaps afternoon tea served with home made cake! Free WiFi, don't forget to bring your laptop/netbook. Stay for a day, a week or maybe just the weekend, but however long your stay, you will be certain of a warm and friendly welcome in a house that might just be your ideal home from home.
